Learning Goal: Students will be able to explain Sternberg's view on what it means to be intelligent.
Conversational Roundtable
Before we learn about Sternberg's opinion on what makes someone intelligent, we are going to start to fill out our conversational roundtable. In the first box, I would like you to explain the theory from last class that talks about the 4 main learning styles (Beach Ball, Clipboard, Microscope and Puppy). At the end of the class you will fill in the next box on what Sternberg says about intelligence.
What are the ways of being intelligent?
Before we read the article on Sternberg, I would like you to think about all the different ways that you believe someone can be intelligent. Later we will group these ways and discuss the prominent kinds of intelligence that emerge.

Next we will read the following article on Sternberg's theory of intelligence.
In the next box of your conversational roundtable, please put a summary of Sternberg's theory of intelligence. If you do not finish this in class, it will be homework.
