Thinking Like a Historian Part II: Tech Time and "Black and White" by David Maculay
Learning Goal #1: Students will take time to explore their new laptops and bookmark the key sites they will need for this class. Learning Goal #2: Students will continue to use the thinking skills historians use when considering David Maculay's "Black and White".
Tech Time
Congratulations!! You now officially have the technology that you will be using for the rest of the year! Yay! During the first half of class I would like you to explore some of the tools that you are provided with using your new MacBook Airs. As you do this, please follow the "Tech Scavenger Hunt" graphic organizer to make sure you're explore all of your laptop.
As with a car, there are rules for how to use this powerful piece of technology. These are in place for your own safety and the safety of others as well as to ensure that everyone can get the most out of this amazing resource. We are extremely lucky to have these computers so I ask that you treat them with respect and do not abuse this privilege.
Primary Sources
Since we are going to treat history as an investigation in this class, we need to be able to work with primary sources. These are historical artifacts that were created during the specific time period we are looking into. In order for me to help you learn how to use these efficiently, I need to know what you can already do with them. Please take this pre-assessment to test out working with primary sources.
